For character, amenity, and voluminous space, you’ll love the three Winchcombe Carson Wool Stores, bounded by Vernon, Ethyl and Florence St, the oldest being built in 1911.
Developers BMI Group were behind the architectural redesign and managed to retain much of the buildings’ history – the wool bale tunnels, brickwork, wool scales and heavy hardwood doorways, creating an aesthetically striking building both outside and in. The buildings are a wonderful example of clever urban renewal. (Interesting side note – Hutton and Hutton’s CEO Peter Hutton started his career in international trading in one of the Teneriffe Woolstores!)
Heritage listed, many of the owners have transformed their apartments with stunning modern renovations to maximise the value of their properties.
The most recently built of the three Winchcombe Carson buildings boasts a gorgeous, north-facing outdoor pool and bbq area for residents – a lovely spot to entertain friends and family.
Most residents of Teneriffe rate it highly for its mix of history, friendly vibes, walkability, and riverside strolls. Favourite weekend destinations include Beccafino, gelati heaven La Macelleria, gyms, yoga studios, and newest kid on the block – La Patrona (the Hutton and Hutton Real Estate team ate here recently – delicious! Great wine too).
Locals top favourites also include – Danny’s Bread, Dalgety 2.0 Public House, Barko & Co, Green Beacon Brewing Co, Teneriffe Park for picnics, The Woolshed and Phat Pho.
For those who like to work out, there’s Healthworks, Teneriffe Fitness, Pilates studios, yoga, you name it, Teneriffe has it (or the neighbouring suburbs of Fortitude Valley and Newstead will also fulfill every fitness desire! Hutton and Hutton Real Estate love walking the river walk, and Park Run on a Saturday morning is lots of fun too.
In a nutshell, if you like to be close to everything, you’ll absolutely love living at Winchcombe Carson Woolstores.
