It’s no secret; Brisbane is the best city in Australia.

Well, in our humble opinion it is.

Sure, it doesn’t have the iconic Sydney Harbour or the renowned cultural scene of Melbourne, but Brisbane is unique and special in its own right. By the end of this article, you’ll have no doubts that Brisbane will be the next major hotspot for tourism, culture, and lifestyle.

1. We have the best weather, hands down

Queensland isn’t called the Sunshine State for nothing! Brisbane only cops 89 days of rain a year. That leaves you with an incredible 276 days of sunny days to enjoy!

Not only do we have an abundance of good weather but the temperature is also always wonderful. Say goodbye to those thermals you needed in Melbourne; Brisbane has average highs of 22 degrees during the winter. Jeans and a jacket are all you need for the day and the nights rarely drop below double digits.

The summer is even better with the days averaging 32 degrees, meaning you can spend plenty of time outdoors and at the beach.

2. Our bar scene is choice

Brisbane is a city teeming with nightlife. We have so many bars and clubs to suit all sorts of crowds. If you’re looking for somewhere with good music and stunning views, head down to the Howard Smith Wharf for drinks at Felons. The views of the city will leave you breathless and the brewery’s house beers as refreshing and delicious. It’s perfect for a relaxed night out.

The Boom Boom Room is hidden away in Elizabeth Street and boasts beautiful, vintage interiors and live music to dance the night away. Their cocktails are all dedicated to by-gone music eras and are deliciously moreish.

4. There’s so much to do

You will never be stuck without anything to do in Brisbane. In fact, we have a full day planned for you right here to prove it.

700: Get up and enjoy a fantastic morning walk up to the top of Mount Cootha for panoramic views of the city. It’ll be sure to get your heart pumping as you enjoy the beautiful bushland on the way up. Grab some brekkie at the top at Kuta Cafe.

The friendly staff will show you the ropes (literally) and then you can climb to your heart’s content!

1400: Okay, time for something a bit more low-key, so, head on over to the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art for your culture fix. They always have new creative installations to get excited about so you’ll be wandering about for hours taking it all in. Why not get a bite to eat at the café bistro while you’re there. After all, you deserve it.

5. Brisbane people are the friendliest bunch

Above all, the best part about this glorious city is the people you meet on your adventures. They’re a different sort up north, so it doesn’t matter what school you went to or which car you drive; you’ll always be greeted with a smile and a ‘G’day’.

Brisbane’s laidback atmosphere breeds laidback people who are always up for a laugh and a drink or two. So, when you spend some time with the locals, you’ll never want to leave.
