We based this week’s H List around things to do at home – so get into your cosy clothes – we think you’ll like this one!

WATCH THIS

All property and architecture aficionados need to tune into Kevin McLeod’s Grand Tour on ABC iview. Beginning in Paris, he then takes us through Venice, Florence, Rome and Naples and on to Greece where it all started. It’s rollicking good fun as you’d expect from Kevin, and so lovely to see those areas of the globe we’re missing out on right now.

The Children’s Bible by Pulitzer Prize finalist Lydia Millet. One of the H & H team has just started it and she’s already obsessed. It made the Top Ten on the NY Times list for 2020, and we recommend you go and purchase from your local bookshop!

DO THIS

Walking. It’s a bit underrated, but walking’s low impact and can be done for long periods of time (and doesn’t require much in the form of equipment!). One of our crew recently completed the 13km section of the Byron Coast Charity Walk for Westpac Helicopter. It was non-competitive, very social and they raised money for a good cause (though the last kilometre of beach walking was hard going!)

EAT THIS

The New Farm Deli has fresh black truffles from Western Australia instore right now. They suggest slicing them over pasta, fish, meat, scrambled eggs or pasta. Better put on your running shoes!

ENTER THIS

Entries for this year’s Brisbane Portrait Prize close on August 15th. With a range of categories, all with quite decent cash prizes, if we were artists, we’d be giving it a go! Different formats are welcome, but they must be 2 dimensional – see their website for more details, and good luck!
