SEE THIS
The Queensland Museum never disappoints with its never ending array of things to interest both old and young alike. At the moment, there’s an event called ‘Brickman’ which as the title suggests, is all about lego. From the Great Wall of China to the Taj Mahal and the Empire State Building — this world-class exhibition takes you on a fun trip through history. On the way in, check out the Whale Mall, complete with the sound of whales echoing above (the museum actually hires the space for parties!)
DO THIS
Here’s one of those things we always mean to get around to (and might be best after the school holidays). Spring is such a beautiful time to see Brisbane’s beautiful colours whilst 74 metres off the ground. You’ll see the CBD, Fortitude Valley and South Brisbane lit up for as far as the eye can see!
EAT THIS
Everyone knows it’s all about seafood in Queensland. Whether it’s Christmas lunch, birthday dinners or lunch with friends, seafood always goes down well with a glass of chilled white wine. What better spot than King Crab Co in one of Brisbane’s premier suburbs, Bulimba? We all agree that our favourite from the menu is the tasting platter with crab claws, calamari and oysters – bon appetit!
HEAR THIS
You better be quick to get tickets to see King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard! They’re an electrifying rock band from Melbourne with a huge following and they’re gracing the stage at The Princess Theatre in late December. Google their web page – they sound like a lot of fun.
VISIT THIS
Nature lovers – this one’s for you. Take the kids to Tamborine Mountain for a lovely nature walk. It’s full of little waterfalls, and rainforest – delightful for all ages. While you’re there, go for a stroll through the gorgeous township – they have everything on offer from opals to Wattle Toffee Liqueur from the Tamborine Mountain Distillery. Other things to do include the Glow Worm Cave and the skywalk!
