Spending way more time at home than we’re used to really has made us think about what we’d love more of around the house. (Have you been thinking the same thing?)

It seems evident too, that we all want to support our Australian economy with a renewed focus on beautiful things that are available in our incredibly creative country.

So, we thought we’d share our five favourite Australian interiors brands. Please enjoy.

Furniture: We’ve loved Jardan from the moment we first walked into their store in the James St precinct, Fortitude Valley. Elegant, but robust enough to last right through the family years, every single piece of furniture is crafted by hand in their Melbourne workshop. Pleasing to the eye, we can imagine a house full of Jardan furniture to be the perfect place to batten down the hatches.

Art: Antonia Perricone Mrljak is so hot right now! From her Sydney-based practice, her originals sell out in the blink of an eye, such is the demand from her strong following of devotees. Constantly evolving, Antonia produces works on a variety of scales including a current project where she’s teamed up with a commercial developer to adorn the walls of their communal workspace. (We can’t wait to see that!)

Rugs: Australia’s very own Hali is our choice when you need something beautiful underfoot. With their beginnings harking back to the 70’s (congrats on that!), one of our favourites in the current collection is the ‘Reyes’, a hand tufted rug crafted from a blend of wool and bamboo silk – a perfect blank canvas to build your room around (reasonably priced too). Rick (that’s him in the pic) will look after you!

Bed Linen: Luckily for us, Australian company Sheets on the Line make a range of bed linen that’ll have you never wanting to get out of bed. (Not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing!) We love their Cloudland pure linen sheet set – it’s perfect if you like a casual look while having the feel of absolute luxury. They also stock a range of everything from sleep wear to bits and pieces for the kitchen, dining table and laundry – it’s a one-stop shop we think you’ll love.

Accessories: We’ve been big fans of Bonnie and Neil since they started back in 2010, and it’s inspiring to see they’re now stocked all around the world. They’ve stayed the course with their ‘Made in Australia’ mantra, and what we’ve found since starting our own Bonnie and Neil collection is that their designs never date, so we adore them just as much today as when we first purchased them.

We hope you’ve enjoyed our list, we love to share the love, and the small business owners we’ve mentioned above will LOVE your support!
