One of New Farm’s ‘Jewels in the Crown’, Cutters Landing offers the perfect mix of architecture, lifestyle, and amenity with its north-easterly aspect over the river, set amongst ancient figs and lush landscaping.
Having set the bar for luxury property, iconic Australian developers Mirvac acquired the site in 1995, and set the stage for 300 apartment and 86 house owners to revel in their designer residences.
Little wonder Cutters Landing is one of the most exclusive and highly prized developments in Brisbane, as well as one of the best for sustained growth.
Hutton and Hutton Real Estate have sold many of the apartments over the years, in the new buildings overlooking the figs, as well as The Refinery.
Heritage listed, The Refinery is the centrepiece of the Cutters Landing development and a much-loved part of Brisbane’s history. An operational sugar mill for CSR until 1998, it was closed and used as a storage facility then sold to Mirvac in 2000 (interesting side note – the building was used as a backdrop for one of the Inspector Gadget films!). There are several additions to The Refinery, one of our favourites being ‘The Laboratory’, constructed from 1890, which is now a two-storey residence.
Neighbouring New Farm Park, many of the Cutters Landing residents enjoy the Saturday morning Powerhouse Markets, as well as a constant array of live theatre, photographic exhibitions and cinema inside the converted power station (it once powered Brisbane’s tram system, and still retains much of its historic detail).
With the ferry stop right next door in New Farm Park, as well as buses an easy stroll away, you’ll likely be using the car a little less. Merthyr Village is your one-stop-spot for groceries, coffee, gifts, medical and more (it’s a place you’ll find many of the Hutton and Hutton Real Estate team before, during and after work!)
We’ve left the best part for last. It’s the community spirit of Cutters Landing, one of the reasons why you’ll find that apartments and houses there hit the market quite infrequently!
